Title Fuel tanks for two- or three-wheel motor vehicles 2.2.1.20.2. Inspections and their results 2.2.1.20.2.1. General The tank is made of steel. Its thermal, mechanical and chemical behaviour is appropriate for fuel tanks under their intended conditions of use. The tank and its adjacent parts are designed in such a way, that no electrostatic charge could cause sparking between the tank and the chassis of the vehicle, which would likely to ignite the fuel/air mixture. The fuel tank withstands corrosion. It passed the leak-tightness tests with an absolute pressure of 130 kPa laid out in Chapter 6, Annex I, item 1.3. of Directive 97/24/EC. Any excess pressure or any pressure exceeding the service pressure is automatically released by ventilation orifice / safety valve. The ventilation orifice / safety valve is designed in such a way as to preclude any risk of ignition. No fuel flow from the filler cap or ventilation orifice / safety valve when the tank was fully inverted. Dripping of fuel was less than 30 g/min. 2.2.1.20.2.2. Tests 2.2.1.20.2.2.1.
