2. Attaching Neonate SpO2 sensor
Wind the SpO2 sensor around a hand or foot. Hold the sensor, pull the belt and fit one of its sides
with ^'V" edge into the "V" groove on the corresponding side of the sheath. Appropriately elongate
the belt (about 20mm) and fit the "V" edge of the other side of the belt into the "V" groove of the
other side of the sheath and then loosen the belt. After the "V" edges of the two sides of the belt fit
well into the "V" grooves on the two sides of the sheath, put the belt into the first lock bar to
fasten the belt. See figure 12-4. If the belt is too much long, you may put it into the second lock
bar. You must position the SpO2 sensor in this way so as to make the photoelectric component face
the correct position. In the mean time, note not to elongate the belt too much, which may lead to
inaccurate measurement and also blocking the blood circulation severely.
