Soft tip (B)
The soft tip ofthe QIeaf is made of a
biocompatible plastic and designed as a
disposable, thus enabling it to be replaced
regularly. For its maintenance and cleaning,
please refer to the chapter 'Maintenance and use'
(page 14-15). The illustration can be different
from your choice of size for soft tip.
Sound opening (6)
The processed and amplified sound emits
through this opening and is directed towards the
ear drum.
Domes (7)
The domes ensure a seal, which prevents the
sound of the speaker to interfere with that of the
microphone. Additionally, the domes provide a
good 'grip' inside the ear.

Pull cord (8)
To take the QIeaf out of the ear, the pull cord is
used. After insertion ofthe QIeaf the pull cord
will be situated behind the tragus (page 12),
which makes it nearly invisible.
Battery (c)
QIeaf uses type 10 cell batteries, in the package
indicated with a yellow sticker. The device is
switched off upon the removal of the battery.
The daily use of QIeaf
Before you start any of the actions mentioned in
chapters 'The daily use ofQleaf' and 'Maintenance
and use; make sure you are using a clean and
horizontal working surface.
Placing the battery
While using a new battery: first remove the
sticker from the + pole. Hold the module
(coloured side indicator facing to the right) and
insert the battery as indicated (see image).
Removing the battery
Hold the module and remove the battery with the
added tool (see image).
